WHEN AND WHERE IS SOKA FEST?
SOKA Fest is a live music takeover of Reading town centre on Saturday 10 October 2026. The all-day festival will be held across multiple venues, raising money for Reading Pride.
RAISING MONEY FOR READING PRIDE
In 2025, Reading lost a much-loved member of its music community, Sophie Sheehan.
Sophie brought energy, passion, and personality to the local scene. She regularly performed live, helped organise Reading Pride, and strongly supported Reading’s LGBTQ+ community. In recognition of this, she was awarded the Berkshire Artistree Award in 2024.
Over 50 local musicians will perform throughout the day, in a display of solidarity to help raise money for Reading Pride.

REMEMBERING SOPHIE SHEEHAN
Soka Fest was organised by local artist Nicole Allan (Also a winner of the Berkshire Artistree Award) and Reading Pride Committee, amongst other volunteers.
Nicole was a close friend of Sophie’s. They often had Christmas together and had known each other for over 10 years.
The event serves as a testimony to Sophie’s memory, with an outpouring of support from musicians and other community members.
READING PRIDE
With this event, Nicole hopes to raise a significant amount to support Reading Pride, an event close to Sophie’s heart. All ticket revenue and busking income is donated, while all of the musicians have cleared their diaries to perform at the event.
